Creating the housing administrator and housing office

community development established. (a) There shall be a housing administrator who shall be appointed by the mayor, confirmed by the council, and may be removed by the mayor. The mayor shall appoint a housing administrator within thirty days of taking office or within sixty days after the occurrence of any vacancy. The council shall act to confirm or reject any appointment by the mayor within sixty days after receiving notice of the appointment from the mayor. If the council does not confirm or reject any such appointment within sixty days, the appointee shall be deemed to have been confirmed. (b) The office of housing and community development shall consist of the housing administrator and necessary staff. The housing administrator shall oversee and supervise the operations of the office of housing and community development.
