Creating the county mass transit agency

This section creates a county agency called the mass transit agency. Its purpose is to provide public bus or transit service, either directly, with partners, or through private contracts, to carry out state law on mass transit.

For the purpose of providing mass transit service in the County whether directly, jointly, or under contract with private parties, an agency to be known as the mass transit agency is created in order to implement chapter 51, Hawai‘i Revised Statutes.
