Contractor and borrower must protect the county from sewer connection claims

This section requires the chosen contractor and the guaranteed borrower to sign agreements with the County of Hawaii. In those agreements, they must promise to defend the County and pay for any personal injury or property damage caused by connecting the property to the sewer.

The contractor selected pursuant to this article, as well as the guaranteed borrower shall execute agreements with the County of Hawai‘i in which each of them agrees to defend, indemnify and hold harmless the County of Hawai‘i in the event of any personal injury or property damage resulting from the connection of the property to the sewer.
