Backup warning devices on construction trucks

The device must be loud enough to be heard from at least 200 feet away. It can only be used while the truck is backing up.

Any truck used to haul dirt, rock, concrete, or other construction material may be equipped with a horn, bell, or whistle in the rear, capable of emitting a sound audible under normal conditions from a distance of not less than two hundred feet. Such warning device, however, shall be sounded only while the truck is backing up. Division 7. Tires.
