Where to put warning devices on a divided highway at night

If your vehicle breaks down on a divided highway when lights are required, you must put out warning devices in three specific spots. Place one about 200 feet behind, one about 100 feet behind, and one about 10 feet to the traffic side. This section tells you exactly where to put them.

required. Whenever any vehicle of a type referred to in this division is disabled upon any roadway of a divided highway during the time that lights are required, the appropriate warning devices prescribed in sections 24-121, 24-122, and 24-123, shall be placed as follows: (1) one at a distance of approximately two hundred feet from the vehicle in the center of the lane occupied by the stopped vehicle and in the direction of traffic approaching in that lane; (2) one at a distance of approximately one hundred feet from the vehicle, in the center of the lane occupied by the vehicle and in the direction of traffic approaching in that lane; (3) one at the traffic side of the vehicle and approximately ten feet from the vehicle in the direction of the nearest approaching traffic.
