Rules for publishing public hearing notices

Before a public hearing, the commission must put a notice in at least two local newspapers at least ten days ahead, unless a longer time is required by law. The notice must say when and where the hearing is, what it is about, and describe any property involved. The commission can combine notices for hearings on the same day if each hearing's details are listed.

(a) Unless otherwise provided, whenever published notice is required under this chapter prior to any commission public hearing, the commission shall publish notice of the hearing in at least two newspapers of general circulation in the County, at least ten days prior to the date of the public hearing, unless a longer time period is required by either statute or Charter provision, in which case, the notice period provided by statute or Charter provision shall apply. The notice shall specify the time, date and place of the hearing, its purpose and a description of the property, if any, involved. (b) The commission may publish consolidated notices of any public hearings to be held on the same date; provided that the consolidated notices state specific information regarding the time, date and place, the purpose and a description of the property involved in each matter.
