HCC §25-5-51

How residential and agricultural districts are marked on the zoning map

Read the official text at hawaiicounty.gov ↗

This section explains how the county labels residential and agricultural (RA) districts on the zoning map. Each RA district gets a symbol with the letters RA, a number, and a lowercase 'a'. The number tells you the minimum acres needed for each building site, like RA-1a means one acre per site.

Each RA (residential and agricultural) district shall be designated on the zoning map by the symbol “RA” followed by a number and the lower case letter “a” which indicates the required or minimum number of acres for each building site. For example RA-1a means a residential agricultural district with a minimum building site area of one acre. (1996, ord 96-160, sec 2; ratified April 6, 1999.)25-5-51
