How the county decides on your sign permit

The county director must look at the committee's advice before deciding on a sign permit. If the sign follows all county, state, and federal rules, the county must issue the permit. This section only covers the decision process, not other permit rules.

(a) The director shall consider the committee’s recommendation(s) when processing a sign permit application. (b) If the director, after considering the committee’s recommendation(s), finds that the proposed sign is in compliance with this article and chapter and any other applicable County, State or Federal law or regulation, a sign permit shall be issued by the department.
