Paying off existing debts or liens in a district

This section lets a district pay off or reduce certain liens and debts that are tied to taxes, fees, charges, or assessments within its area. It also allows the district to pay the ongoing debt payments on those debts. The section is short and only gives this permission.

The district may also pay in full all amounts necessary to eliminate or reduce any fixed assessment liens or to repay or defease, in whole or in part, any indebtedness secured by any tax, fee, charge, or assessment levied within the area of a district or may pay debt service on that indebtedness.
