County workers are protected from personal lawsuits

County workers who enforce this Code in good faith are not personally responsible for damage caused by their official actions. If someone sues them for doing their job, the County's legal team will defend them until the case ends.

The administrative authority or any employee charged with the enforcement of this Code, acting for the County in good faith and without malice in the discharge of his or her duties, shall not thereby render him or herself liable personally and he or she hereby is relieved from all personal liability for any damage that may occur to persons or property as a result of any act required, or by reason of any act of omission, in the discharge of his or her duties. Any suit brought against the administrative authority or employees, because of such act of omission performed by him or her in the enforcement of any provisions of this Code, shall be defended by the legal department of the County until final termination of the proceedings.
