In freight loading zones, you can only stop to load or unload freight during certain hours and for a limited time. The county decides where these zones are and marks them with yellow paint.

No person shall stop, stand or park a vehicle for any purpose or period of time other than for the expeditious loading or unloading of passengers in any place marked as a passenger curb loading zone during hours when the regulations applicable to the passenger curb loading zones are effective, and then only for a period not to exceed three (3) minutes.No person shall stop, stand or park a vehicle for any purpose or length of time other than for the expeditious unloading and delivery or pick-up and loading of freight in any place marked as a freight curb loading zone during the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Mondays to Saturdays, inclusive, except on holidays. In no case shall the stop for loading and unloading of freight exceed thirty (30) minutes.Whenever any curb markings are to be used to designate loading zones, the markings shall be yellow in color.The County Council of the County of Kaua'i shall establish, mark and designate, relocate, or abolish any loading or unloading zone where there is an apparent need therefor.
