What happens if you ignore a parking ticket on your car

If you get a parking ticket on your car and don't show up to court by the date on the ticket, the county court will mail you a letter about the violation. The letter warns that if you ignore it too, the court may add penalties to all your unpaid tickets.

If a violator of the restrictions on stopping, standing, or parking under this Chapter does not appear in response to a summons affixed to the motor vehicle within the period of time specified on the summons, district courts of the County of Kaua'i shall send to the owner of the motor vehicle to which the summons was affixed a letter informing him or her of the violation and notifying the driver that in the event the letter is disregarded for a specified period of time the court may impose penalties on all outstanding traffic citations.
