This section explains the consequences for breaking certain rules in this law. People who break the rules can lose access to service, and some violations can lead to fines or jail time. Police can arrest people for one specific violation, or give them a ticket instead.

Any person violating Sections 17B l.2(a) through (k), 17B-l.3, 17B-l.4, 17B-l.5 or aiding, abetting, or assisting in any manner whatsoever another person in violating any of such provisions may be suspended from access to service in accordance to Section 1 7B-l.7.Any person convicted of violating, or aiding, abetting, or assisting another person in violating Section 17B-l.2(1), shall be fined in an amount not exceeding five hundred dollars ($500.00) or be imprisoned for a period not exceeding six (6) months, or both.Each day a violation is committed or permitted to continue shall constitute a separate offense and shall be punishable as such under this Section.Any authorized police officer may arrest a person for violating Section 1 7B-l.2(1). If a police officer arrests a person, the police officer may, but need not, issue a citation in lieu of the arrest, if the police officer finds and is reasonably satisfied that the person:Will appear in court at the time designated;Has no outstanding arrest warrants that would justify the person's detention or give indication that the person might fail to appear in court; andThat the offense is of such nature that there will be no further police contact on or about the date in question, or in the immediate future.
