Camping permits required for overnight park stays

You need a camping permit from the County Parks Department to camp, set up a tent, or make temporary sleeping quarters in a county park between 5 p.m. and 10 a.m. Permits are given out during normal County business hours, unless a special rule in another section applies.

Any person who camps, erects a tent or constructs any temporary sleeping quarters on any County public park during the hours of 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 a.m. shall first obtain a camping permit from the Department of Parks and Recreation or any other authorized County agency.Except as authorized in Sec. 19-2.7 of this Article, permits shall be issued during normal hours of work of the County from the Department of Parks and Recreation or other agency that is designated by the Department.
