Notifying the owner of an impounded stray animal

The owner of an impounded estray shall be notified of the impoundment and of the impounding expenses incurred.The owner shall produce proof of his or her right to the estray and shall pay the impounding expenses.If the owner fails to produce proof of ownership or fails to pay the impounding expenses within fortyeight (48) hours after notice, or if the owner is unknown, the estrays shall remain impounded and be sold at public sale as provided in this Article.
