KCC §22-24.4What Happens to Cats You Find and Turn In
Read the official text at ecode360.com ↗If you take in a stray cat, you must tell the animal control provider and give the cat to them when asked. The provider holds microchipped cats longer than unchipped ones, tries to contact the owner, and charges a daily fee for the owner to get the cat back. Cats are fixed before adoption unless a vet says it's unsafe.
