This section sets the penalty for scrap metal dealers who break the rules. If you deal in scrap metal without a license, after your license is revoked, or you break license conditions, you can be fined and lose your license.

Every person who engages in the business of buying and selling scrap metal, or who deals therein, unless licensed therefor according to law, or after notice that his or her license has been revoked, or who, being licensed, neglects to keep the books and make the entries required in Section 23-2.4, or in any way or manner breaches the conditions of the license as specified under the provisions of this Article or is convicted of violating any of the provisions of this Article shall be fined not more than five hundred dollars ($500.00) for each offense and shall forfeit his or her license.
