How and where improvement district bond payments are made

This section explains how the county pays back improvement district bonds. The Council decides where payments are made, and interest can be sent by check or draft. If payments are made outside the county, the Finance Director must send the money to that place, after checking the institution is solvent.

The principal of and premium, if any, and interest on the improvement district bonds shall be payable at such place or places as may be determined by resolution of the Council, and, in the case of interest, may be payable by check or draft mailed by the paying agent or paying agents for the bonds to the registered owners thereof. In all cases the improvement district bonds and coupons, if any, shall recite the places of payment. In case any improvement district bonds are made payable elsewhere than in the County, the Director of Finance shall remit the funds necessary to pay the interest and principal and premium thereon when due of any such improvement district bonds, with exchange, to the institution so designated, first assuring him or herself that such institution is then solvent.
