Finance Director Can Suggest Early District Termination

The Finance Director may suggest to the Council that a district end before its original end date. This suggestion is made if the Director thinks it helps the public. The suggestion must include a proposed law to end the district early.

The Director of Finance may recommend to the Council that a district be terminated before the expiration of the term specified in the ordinance of formation. The recommendation shall be made if the Director determines that the public convenience and necessity will be promoted by the early termination. A recommendation shall be accompanied by a proposed ordinance of early termination.
