County adopts the new General Plan

This section officially adopts the Kaua'i County General Plan, including its maps, policies, and actions, as part of county law. It replaces older General Plans, but keeps any conditions attached to earlier plan amendments.

A copy, taken August 22, 2026. The version published by Kauaʻi County is the one that governs, and it may have changed since. Check it before relying on anything here.

The plan document on file with the County Clerk entitled "Kaua'i Kākou – Kaua'i County General Plan" (Planning Commission Draft approved in 2017, as amended by the Kaua'i County Council and approved in 2018, and as may be subsequently amended), including the maps and text policies, vision, and implementing actions dated as of the effective date of the ordinance codified in this Article, is hereby adopted by reference and made a part of this Article."Upon adoption of the ordinance codified in this Article, prior resolutions and ordinances relating to previous General Plans are superseded; provided that conditions of approval attached to General Plan amendment ordinances adopted prior to the adoption of this General Plan shall remain in effect.
