How to withdraw or abandon a zoning amendment request

This section explains how a request to change zoning rules can be dropped. The person who started the request can withdraw it in writing. The Council or Planning Commission can also abandon a request they started themselves, but only while it is still being considered.

Any petition for an amendment may be withdrawn upon the written application of the initiator. The Council or the Planning Commission, as the case may be, may, by motion abandon any proceedings for an amendment initiated by its own resolution or intention.Such withdrawal or abandonment may be made only when such proceedings are before such body for consideration.
