Sanitary sewer requirements for subdivisions

This section says that subdivisions near a public sewer must have proper sewer facilities built to county standards. If there's no public sewer, a private septic system that meets county and state rules may be allowed. Storm drains cannot be connected to the sanitary sewer.

Sewage Service.All subdivisions accessible to a public sewer shall provide for adequate sanitary sewer facilities in accordance with the standards established by the Department of Public Works.In subdivisions not accessible to public sewers, a private sewage disposal system that meets the requirements of the Department of Public Works and the requirements of the State and the State Department of Health may be permitted.Relation to Storm Drainage System. No storm drainage channel, line or facility shall be connected to a sanitary sewage system.
