This rule makes it illegal to cheat a parking payment machine. You cannot use fake coins, tokens, or other unauthorized items instead of real money. You also cannot try to get free parking time or avoid paying the required fee.

No person may deposit or cause to be deposited in any parking payment device any slug, device, or substitute for lawful money of United States currency or any other unauthorized payment device or otherwise fraudulently attempt to obtain time on a parking payment device or otherwise avoid making the required payment.
