MCC §10.78.020
Parking permit required in permit zones
Read the official text at library.municode.com ↗You need a valid county parking permit to park in a permit parking zone during the regulated times shown on signs and the official map. If the zone is also a paid parking zone, paying the fee is enough. Parking without a permit can lead to fines, towing, or impounding. This rule does not excuse you from following other parking laws.

A copy, taken August 21, 2026. The version published by Maui County is the one that governs, and it may have changed since. Check it before relying on anything here.
A.
No person may park or permit a vehicle to be parked in any permit parking space during
the regulated time applicable to the permit parking zone, as designated by signs and
by the official permit parking zone map, without a valid parking permit issued by
the County, except that if the permit parking zone is also a paid parking zone, vehicles
paying the paid parking zone parking fee need not have a valid parking permit. Vehicles
otherwise parked without a valid permit are subject to fines, towing, or impounding.
B.
This section's provisions do not relieve any person from the duty to observe other
laws, including more restrictive provisions of this chapter prohibiting or limiting
the stopping, standing, or parking of vehicles in specified places or at specified
times.
