Bus Fare Rules and Exemptions

This section sets the basic rule that everyone riding the county bus must pay the fare listed in the annual budget. It also explains two situations where no fare is charged: infants sitting on an adult's lap and people with a valid fare-free bus pass.

A. Except as otherwise provided in subsections B and C, bus fares apply to every person using the County bus system, and every person riding the County bus system must pay the applicable fare in the annual County budget ordinance. B. No bus fare applies to an infant riding on the lap of an accompanying adult, except that the adult may not carry more than one infant on the adult's lap. C. No bus fare applies to anyone who presents a valid fare-free bus pass. ( Ord. No. 5559 , § 1, 2023; Ord. No. 3628, § 1, 2009)
