The purpose of this chapter is to encourage the establishment of landscape planting
and to protect, preserve and encourage the planting of trees in the county. It is
intended that establishment of landscape planting, with proper maintenance and the
protection and preservation of exceptional trees, will contribute to the outstanding
environmental and aesthetic quality associated with Maui County.
