As used in this chapter, unless the context otherwise requires:
"Creates a safety hazard" includes but is not limited to:
1.
Displaying a sign which hides from view or interferes with the effectiveness of an
official traffic control device.
2.
Displaying a sign which impedes the vision of drivers or pedestrians on a street,
road, or highway by using foils, reflective surfaces, mirrors, or similar light reflecting
materials.
3.
Displaying a sign on or adjacent to any street, road, or highway which purports to
be, resembles, or is an imitation of, an official traffic control device, signal or
sign, bearing words, symbols, characters, color and/or shape in such a manner as to
interfere with, mislead, or confuse pedestrian or vehicular traffic.
"Highway" means the entire width between the boundary lines of every way publicly
maintained when any part thereof is open to the use of the public for purposes of
vehicular travel.
"Sign" means any sign, poster, banner, or flag, held, supported by a vehicle, or otherwise
displayed.
"Traffic control devices" means all traffic signs, pavement markings, and traffic
signal lights officially erected or installed, to guide, direct, warn, and otherwise
control vehicular and pedestrian movement on public streets and highways. Such devices
include traffic and pedestrian signals, signs including, but not limited to, the following:
stop, yield, do not enter, wrong way, speed limits, one way arrows, turn lane arrows,
lane restriction symbols, and temporary warning signs notifying drivers of general
or specific conditions such as road closures, flag man, detours, road construction,
and/or special speed restrictions, which are placed on or adjacent to a roadway.
