Extra rules for wastewater discharges

The county can make businesses that send wastewater to the treatment plant install equipment to control the flow and detect flammable gases. The business pays for the equipment. A permit may be issued just for flow control.

A. The director may require any entity discharging into the POTW to install and maintain, on its property and at its expense, a suitable storage and flow-control facility to ensure equalization of flow. A wastewater discharge permit may be issued solely for flow equalization. B. Users with the potential to discharge flammable substances may be required to install and maintain an approved combustible gas detection meter. (Ord. 2760 § 4 (part), 1999)
