MCC §14.21A.095

Wastewater discharge permit requirements for industrial users

Read the official text at library.municode.com ↗

Big industrial users must get a permit before putting wastewater into the county sewer system. The county can also make other users get permits. Breaking permit rules is a violation and can lead to penalties, but having a permit doesn't excuse you from other laws.

A. No significant industrial user or user shall discharge wastewater into the POTW without first obtaining a wastewater discharge permit from the director, except that a significant industrial user that has filed a timely application pursuant to section 14.21A.110 may continue to discharge for the time period specified therein. B. The director may require other users to obtain wastewater discharge permits as necessary to carry out the purposes of this article. C. Any violation of the terms and conditions of a wastewater discharge permit shall be deemed a violation of this article and subjects the wastewater discharge permittee to the sanctions set forth in sections 14.21A.255 through 14.21A.320 . Obtaining a wastewater discharge permit does not relieve a permittee of its obligation to comply with all federal and State pretreatment standards or requirements or with any other governmental regulations.
