MCC §14.21A.215
How wastewater samples must be collected
Read the official text at library.municode.com ↗This section tells businesses that discharge wastewater how to take samples for testing. Usually, they must use a method that mixes samples based on flow. If that's not possible, they can use other methods if approved, and some pollutants must be tested with grab samples.

A.
Except as indicated in section 14.21A.205.B, the user must collect wastewater samples
using flow proportional composite collection techniques. In the event flow proportional
sampling is infeasible, the pretreatment program administrator may authorize the use
of time proportional sampling or a minimum of four grab samples where the user demonstrates
that this will provide a representative sample of the effluent being discharged. In
addition, grab samples may be required to show compliance with instantaneous discharge
limits.
B.
Samples for oil and grease, temperature, pH, cyanide, phenols, sulfides, and volatile
organic compounds must be obtained using grab collection techniques.
