MCC §14.25A.120
Wastewater extensions in existing subdivisions
Read the official text at library.municode.com ↗This section covers how the County handles wastewater system extensions in existing subdivisions. The County estimates the cost, and you pay that amount up front. If the actual cost is lower, you get a refund; if higher, you pay the difference. You may build it yourself only with County approval, and the County owns the extension.

A.
Application. Upon receipt of a written application for wastewater system extension,
other than for a lot in a new subdivision, including any lateral therefrom, the department
shall make an estimate of the cost thereof and submit it to the applicant. If the
applicant then deposits with the County a sum equal to the estimated cost, the department
shall provide the extension. In the event that the wastewater system extension costs
less than the estimate, a refund shall be made to the applicant; in the event that
the extension costs more than the estimate, the applicant shall pay the difference
to the County immediately. The applicant may elect to construct the extension, subject
to the department's approval.
B.
Specifications. The department shall determine the alignment, the materials to be
used, and the manner of construction. The property owner shall not have any title
to the extension.
