Paying assessments with improvement district bonds

The director of finance shall accept, in lieu of cash, in payment or part payment
for any unpaid assessment installment, interest or penalties thereon, or any land
sold for default in payment of any unpaid assessment installment, bonds or bond interest
coupons of the improvement district in which the land subject to the lien of the unpaid
assessment is situated. Bonds accepted shall be taken at par value and coupons for
the accrued interest shown thereby computed to the date of acceptance thereof. The
director of finance shall forthwith cancel such bonds and coupons.
