Amended assessments become liens on new lots

When an assessment is changed, it replaces the original and becomes a legal claim on the new lot or parcel. This claim starts from the date the original assessment ordinance was published. This section only explains when the lien takes effect.

The amended assessments, being in lieu of original assessments, shall be liens upon the new lots or parcels, respectively, or the new lot or parcel, as of the date of publication of the enacted ordinance levying the original assessment, or assessments.
