New development must match Lahaina's plan for roads and services

New building projects in Lahaina must be planned with future roads and public services in mind, so that infrastructure keeps up with population growth. Projects should not move forward unless they include needed traffic improvements caused by the development.

Under the Lahaina community plan, new land development activity shall be coordinated with future provisions for adequate public services and facilities to ensure that infrastructure development such as roadways, are able to keep pace with population growth. In order to promote orderly growth under the Lahaina community plan, new land development activities should not be allowed to proceed without providing for necessary traffic improvements caused by such land developments.
