Paia-Haiku transportation plan: enactment

This section starts the process for creating a transportation plan for the Paia-Haiku area. The county council must start the plan and then finish it within a set time after hiring an engineer. The plan becomes part of the county code only if the council adopts it later.

The council shall initiate the development of the Paia-Haiku transportation plan upon the effective date of the ordinance codified in this chapter. The Paia-Haiku transportation plan shall be completed and submitted to the council within one year from the date the contract for said plan is awarded to a qualified professional engineer licensed to practice within the State of Hawaii and shall be incorporated as part of title 14 , article 4 of this code, upon adoption by separate ordinance.
