Final plat must be finished within one year

After your preliminary plat is approved, you have one year to finish and file the final plat. If you miss that deadline, the preliminary approval becomes invalid. You can ask for more time if you have a good reason, under a separate rule.

The final plat shall be prepared and completed within one year following the approval given on the preliminary plat or construction plans. If the final plat has not been filed within this period, the preliminary plat shall be deemed null and void. Time extension, for good cause, may be granted as provided under section 18.12.060 .
