Completion of construction—Bond

This section requires a subdivider to put up a bond or other approved security before construction work is done. The security must cover the estimated cost of the work and be filed with the county. It protects the county if the work is not finished or is done badly.

A. The agreement as specified in section 18.20.200 shall be secured by a good and sufficient surety bond (other than personal surety), certified check or other security acceptable to the director and approved by the corporation counsel, in a sum equal to the cost of all the work required to be done by the subdivider as estimated by the director and/or the director of water supply. The surety bond shall be payable to the County and shall be conditioned upon the faithful performance and completion of any and all work required to be done by the subdivider. B. The security shall be filed with the director and deposited with the county director of finance as a realization in whole or part for the completion, correction of any defective work, or improper work called for in the original plan.
