Molokai resident required on certain county boards

This rule says that at least one member of five specific county boards and commissions must live on Molokai. If a board currently lacks such a member, the county must fix that when a vacancy opens up.

In fulfilling the mandate of section 13-2(2), revised charter of the County of Maui (1983), as amended, a minimum of one member must be a resident of the island of Molokai for each of the following boards and commissions: A. Board of variances and appeals; B. Fire and public safety commission; C. Liquor control adjudication board; D. Liquor control commission; and E. Police commission. Any existing deficiency in minimum island representation must be rectified as vacancies occur. ( Ord. No. 5783 , § 2, 2025; Ord. No. 4147, § 2, 2014)
