This rule sets the steepest allowed slope for fill (dirt or rock placed on land) based on soil type. It only covers slope limits and does not address other fill rules.

Under the following soil conditions, no fill may be steeper in slope than the ratio of its horizontal to its vertical distance as shown below: A. One and one half horizontal to one vertical in rock and clay mixture; B. Two horizontal to one vertical in sandy and clayey soils. (Ord. 816 § 1 (part), 1975: prior code § 24-3.1(c))
