Definitions for County Property Leases and Concessions

This section explains what two words mean in this chapter. A concession is permission to run a retail business, like a restaurant or store, on County property. A lease is the right to use real property for at least fifteen days.

As used in this chapter, unless the context clearly requires otherwise: A. "Concession" means the grant to a person of the privilege to conduct operations which are essentially retail in nature, involving the sale of goods, wares, merchandise, or services to the general public, such as restaurants, cocktail lounges, soda fountains and retail stores in or on buildings under the jurisdiction of the County. B. "Lease" means the right to possess and use real property for a period of fifteen days or more. (Ord. 1069 § 1 (part), 1980: prior code § 5-9.1 (part))
