A copy, taken August 21, 2026. The version published by Maui County is the one that governs, and it may have changed since. Check it before relying on anything here.
In purchasing property and liability insurance, the director of finance may purchase
policies with deductibles up to $1,000,000 per loss occurrence. Policies with deductibles
below $1,000,000 per loss occurrence may be purchased where the premium savings do
not warrant the acceptance of $1,000,000 deductible, or where other factors, such
as the need for a particular loss prevention or claim handling service, require that
the deductible be less than $1,000,000.
