How landowners can protest an annexation ordinance

Landowners can file written protests against a proposed annexation ordinance. Protests must be given to the County clerk before or at the hearing. The council can overlook mistakes in the protest's form, and landowners can withdraw their protest in writing before the hearing ends.

Protests against the proposed ordinance of annexation may be made in writing by landowners. All written protests shall be filed with the County clerk before or at the hearing. The council may waive any irregularities in the form or content of any written protest. Written protests may be withdrawn in writing at any time before the conclusion of the hearing. ( Ord.
