Volunteers injured while fighting a fire under the direction of the fire chief shall be entitled to benefits under the workers' compensation laws. The county shall defend and indemnify volunteers for loss or damage to privately owned equipment used pursuant to this chapter. (Ord. 2272 § 1 (part), 1993)
