Alarm system requirements

This section sets two rules for alarm systems. Audible alarms must turn off their sound on their own within 15 minutes. Automatic dialers cannot be set to call 911 or any police phone number.

A. Every audible alarm system shall have a device or other functionality to automatically terminate the audible signal within fifteen minutes of activation. B. Automatic telephone dialers shall not be programmed for a municipal emergency number such as 911 or the telephone number of any police facility. (Ord. No. 4157, § 1, 2014)
