Fees for community groups using city parks with staff

Community and nonprofit groups that need a city attendant or custodian for a fundraising event at a city recreational facility must pay fees based on how many people are expected to attend. The fee includes a permit processing fee, a rental fee, and an hourly attendant or custodian fee. Groups using kitchens also pay an extra fee, but they are not charged a separate fee for the attendant or custodian.

(a) Community and nonprofit organizations whose use of city recreational facilities requires an attendant or custodian, and who use such facilities for a fund-raising activity, either alone or as part of a recreational or cultural event, shall be assessed fees according to the number of people projected to attend the activity, as follows: Number of Persons Permit Processing Fee Rental Attendant/Custodian Fee Fewer than 300 $15 $25 $20 per hour for custodian or attendant 300 through 500 $15 $50 $20 per hour for custodian or attendant More than 500 $15 $100 $20 per hour for custodian or attendant (b) Organizations referred to in subsection (a) who use kitchen facilities in city recreational facilities shall also be charged the fee provided in § 10-2.5 . Organizations who are assessed an attendant or custodian fee under subsection (a) shall not also be assessed a fee under § 10-2.4 . (c) For the purposes of this section, “fund-raising activity” shall not include an activity where incidental services are provided by organizations to their members for a nominal fee, such as the serving of refreshments, where the fee is charged to recoup the cost of providing the refreshments or other incidental services.
