24-hour parking limit on city streets

This rule limits parking on certain city streets to 24 hours when signs are posted. If you don't move your car within that time, you can get a ticket. Each extra 3 hours you stay is another ticket.

(a) When official signs are posted giving notice thereof, no person shall park a vehicle in the same location for a period of time longer than 24 hours, unless otherwise provided by law, upon any of the streets within the city. A vehicle shall be deemed parked in the same location for more than 24 hours if the vehicle has not been moved within the prescribed time period based upon markings or other means as determined by a police officer or an authorized representative of the department of transportation services. Every three hours a vehicle remains parked in violation of this section after the first violation occurs shall constitute a separate violation. (b) The director of transportation services shall designate, after holding a public hearing on the matter, those streets in the city where parking is to be limited to 24 hours in accordance with § 15-3.1 .
