Extra lights allowed on cars and when they can be used

This section says what extra lights you can add to your car. You can add up to two side or fender lights that are amber or white and not glaring. You can also add one running-board light per side, and a back-up light that must only be on when the car is in reverse.

(a) Any motor vehicle may be equipped with not more than two side cowl or fender lamps that shall emit an amber or white light without glare. (b) Any motor vehicle may be equipped with not more than one running-board courtesy lamp on each side thereof, which shall emit a white or amber light without glare. (c) Any motor vehicle may be equipped with a back-up lamp either separately or in combination with another lamp; but such back-up lamp shall not be lighted when the motor vehicle is in forward motion. )
