How the mayor is elected and how long the term lasts

Except for the filling of a vacancy in the office of the mayor as provided by Charter § 5-106, the electors of the city shall elect a mayor whose term of office shall be four years beginning at 12:00 meridian on the second day of January following the mayor’s election. )
