City reviews capital projects each year

Every year, the planning director works with the budget director and city agencies to check all capital improvement projects against city plans. The planning director writes a report of what they find and sends it to the council.

Annually, the director shall work jointly with the director of budget and fiscal services and the city agencies to review all projects in the city’s capital improvement program and budget for compliance and consistency with the general plan, the North Shore Sustainable Communities Plan and other development plans, any applicable special area plan provisions, and the appropriate functional plans. The director of planning and permitting will prepare a written report of findings to be submitted to the council in accordance with Charter § 6-1503.
