Voluntary revocation or modification of permits

This section lets a permit holder ask to cancel or change their special management area permit. The request is handled like a new permit application, unless the agency has different rules. If the permit itself has a process for small changes, that process can be used.

(a) A special management area major permit or a special management area minor permit may be revoked or modified at the request of the permittee in accordance with this section. (b) An application for the revocation or modification of a special management area minor permit will be processed in the same manner as an application for the granting of a special management area minor permit; provided that the agency may adopt rules pursuant to HRS Chapter 91 providing for processing of the application for revocation or modification in a different manner. (c) An application for the revocation or modification of a special management area major permit will be processed in the same manner as an application for the granting of a special management area major permit; provided that if a permit proposed for modification provides a different process for minor modifications to the permit, that process may be followed for minor modifications.
